Over the course of a 16-game season, you are going to have some ups and downs.
Jets quarterback [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] is definitely in a slump right now.
Perhaps it was inevitable after his hot start, but Sal Paolantonio of ESPN's NFL Matchup Show pointed out this morning [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] is completing less than 50% of his passes over his last three games with one touchdown and four interceptions.
Ron Jaworski pointed out the Packers sat on a lot of the Jets' short routes, and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] likes getting rid of the ball quickly. He has vertical receivers (Braylon Edwards,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Santonio Holmes), so [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] may have to show he can go deep consistently today against a vulnerable Lions secondary.
The guys also showed how Detroit's dangerous pass rush is giving teams trouble by standing up Kyle Vanden Bosch and Ndamukong Suh to confuse offensive lines. The Jets have a veteran line that will be much tougher to confuse than Washington last week.
Add it all up, and you have one of the most intriguing Lions games in years. We'll leave the final thought to MLive.com's Tom Kowalski, a longtime beat reporter of the team.
"I've got to admit, for the first time in god-knows-how-long, i'm actually fired up about covering a Lions game . . . this could be good."
