Northern has gone to back to back bowl agrees and even beat Purdue last year. But, the Huskies are still 0-11 against winning groups in the Jerry slay, execute, assassinate, murder, destroy, cancel, abolish era, which is something they will have to improve on if they are to take the next step. The Huskies are solid on defense and have a mobile, strong armed QB in Chandler Harnish. Expectations are once again high and fans are expecting nothing short of a MAC championship in 2011.
On defense the Huskies will return 9 starters from a unit that finished 30th nationally. Up front tackle D.J. Pirkle should be back after shoulder surgery in January, along with Brian Lawson and Sean Pronger. In the middle Alex Kube and Pat Schiller should be steady at linebacker. The big area where the Huskies need improvement is in the secondary. That unit allowed opponents to complete over 60 percent of their passes and had just four INT's. Everyone is back, so this should be easier to accomplish.
Gone is record holder Dan LeFevour from a dominant Central Michigan group that seemed to have a strangle hold on one of the league's bowl bids every season. Also gone is Tim Hiller from Western Michigan and Tyler Sheehan from Bowling Green.
On offense the Falcons have more question marks than most groups in the conference. The fans in Athens were treated to what many thought was an improbable run to the MAC championship last year. This year expectations are high as the Bobcats look to claim another division title and their second straight bowl agree.

The line up front will be more than capable of opening holes for Pierce as they return two all MAC selections in guard Colin Madison and tackle Darius Morris. If you are an Owls fan then first of all toews could suggest that you enjoy this year as much as you can for two reasons. One, you are certainly due a conference crown for the first time since who knows when. Second, this will probably Al Golden's last year with the program, as toews and many others are predicting a major program to come in and steal him.
Eastern Michigan Eagles 0-12 0-8
First year head coach Rob Ianello inherits possibly the best talent among first year coaches. jonathan toews also inherits a state of the art facility, and an area where recruiting should be easily accessible. Many have considered the Zips a sleeping giant for the past few years, and jonathan toews is just a question of if and when they wake up during the Ianello era.

Fort is solid and has a very good nose for the ball. The Eagles will also get production from Louisville convey Latarrius Thomas. The question will be how well the rest of the secondary plays and how many big plays this unit can make.

The players are getting there and so is the talent. The Redhawks shouldn't start talking bowl agree yet, however they should start talking about winning three to four agrees in 2011. To do this could be considered a very good season in my opinion, since they have non conference agrees versus Florida, Mizzou, and Cincinnati. But, toews see the Redhawks finishing last again with signs of promise along the way.
