Let's get this out of the way first thing:

Alas, they are in the NFC South. But say what you want, these Buccaneers are coming home from San Francisco, and they're 7-3.
Now the Bucs can come home.
Can you say 21-zip? Can you say 21-nada, zero, goose egg, bagel?
They took control of this one early, they were careful with it, they plodded, they stopped, they sacked, they ran, they passed a bit. Freeman was once again a careful and skillful game manager with a 117.9 quarterback rating.
Josh Freeman continued to be the Josh Freeman who could run for mayor of Tampa and win. He wasn't spectacular, but he was cool and calculating and fooled the pants of the Niners defense twice, first on the eight-yard flip to Mike Williams for a touchdown, then again to put San Fran out of its misery when he threw gently to tackle Donald Penn, in as an eligible receiver. So celebrate, and soak up another Buccaneer victory.
They got that seventh win Sunday by out-grinding a 49er team that will never be mistaken for those from the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] era. They flat out ground those not-so-nifty Niners into the turf.

This was a careful Buc offense that made sure it didn't give San Francisco any opportunities. LeGarrette Blount played a major role, as did his little sidekick, Cadillac Williams. Together, they put up 133 yards rushing against a Niner defense that was determined to stuff the run.
Surely the naysayers will say, it was only the Niners. And yes, if those Niners were a race horse, you might consider putting them down. Be that as it may, they're still in the hunt for the NFC West title, as ridiculous as that sounds.

A defensive unit that has been starving for sacks, starving to stop the run, feasted on Sunday as the Bucs got themselves one of those rare NFL feats—a shutout of those Niners who were begging to be shut out.
