Generally, reconstructive plastic surgeries are performed to improve function. In certain cases, restoration and correction of form is top priority. This is in contrast to cosmetic surgery which is performed with a view to enhance appearance to an aesthetic ideal. However personal the choice to undergo cosmetic procedure is, one must carefully balance the associated pros and cons before the knife cuts through.
Side effects are usually minor and temporary in nature. People try everything from abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, breast augmentation, rhinoplasty (nose job) and even eyelid surgery.
