Paris, typically called the City of Love,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is a beautiful city that is definitely worth a visit.
Like most successful ‘cities of old’ it was built around a river, in this case, the Seine. Paris is the most populated city and is the capital of France.
There are some great attractions that are definitely worth a visit when touring Paris. First on the list would of course be the Eiffel Tower. This has become synonymous with Paris and is one of its most recognised landmarks. Try and go either early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the crowds and take the elevator all the way to the top level. The views are truly magnificent and give you a good idea of the layout of Paris. Next you should go to the Arc de Triomphe, which is a war memorial. Try and get a ticket to go onto the roof of the Arc, as once again the views are brilliant. From the Arc de Triomphe take a stroll along the Champs-Elysees. This is a long promenade that is one of the main tourist attractions of Paris as well as a major shopping area.
Of course no visit to Paris would be complete without a trip to the Louvre, arguably one of the most famous Art Museums in the world. Be warned though, the Louvre is absolutely massive. You will need to go through the map and choose sections/areas that you wish to see, as it is not possible to walk the entire Museum in just one day. Overall, the best thing about Paris is being able to just walk around it and visit the little corner cafés to sample their delicacies. Many airlines fly to Paris from South Africa. However the most popular one is Air France,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which of course is the national carrier of France. Other airlines that fly the route include Virgin Atlantic,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], SAA and Emirates.
