Piscitelli had an up [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and down game. Cedric Benson had a few plays where Sabby tried to tackle him and Benson drug him for a few extra yards. Sabby was out of place when Palmer connected with TE Gresham on a TD, but his final play was the most important and that’s all that mattered in the end.
Benguls and Marvin Lewis Choke Against the Buccaneers
If you knew the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Bucs would allow Cedric Benson to rush for 144 yards, average 6.3 yards per carry, have no sacks and almost no pressure on Carson Palmer all day, you’d probably thought the Bucs would have been destroyed on the road in Cincinnati, but a series of strange events and improbable heroes let the Buccaneers beat the Bengals.
The other improbable [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] hero for the Bucs was 7th round rookie safety Cody Grimm. His interception and 11 yard return for TD tied the game and gave the Bucs some life at the start of the second quarter. With Tanard Jackson out for the season due to suspension, the Bucs are thin at safety, but the position with the most concern had the biggest impact of the game.
The Bengals looked to be moving into range for a chance at a game winning field goal, but Sabby Piscitelli was at the right place and time as Carson Palmer pass that was intended for Ochocinco slipped off his fingers and landed in Piscitelli’s hands. Josh Freeman [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] connected with Michael Spurlock and Connor Barth iced it with a 31 yard field goal. It took less than 30 seconds for everything to happen and I think Bucs’ fans were just as shocked as Bengals’ [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] fan. What was Marvin Lewis thinking? Cedric Benson and the running game was having its way with Bucs and they were getting in Mike Nugent’s range. I understand it was a long 3rd down and I don’t like second [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] guessing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but why do you call that pass play? Bengals need to turn it around or Marvin Lewis will probably be gone.
