The project site is located at the CBD area of the Ningbo High-tech Park. It will be made a home of famous software and service outsourcing companies and suppliers. In five years time, it aims to become a place with some over 100 software companies and 5000 software professionals, with yearly turnover of 500 million USD, making itself a first-class base of and intellectual logistics and information industry.

As an important node city of logistics and an important part of the Shanghai International Shipping Center, Ningbo is dedicated to building an intellectual city. It’s been developing 10 intelligence application systems and cultivating six industrial clusters featuring intelligence. This coincides with the Intelligence Earth advocated by IBM.
“This is a strategic move that IBM takes to expand market in China”, said Robert J. LeBlanc at the news release earlier. The reason that IBM chooses Ningbo is that the cargo thruput of the Ningbo Port ranks the second on the mainland and the fourth in the world. It is good for IBM to provide information services to China and even to the world through international ports,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he said. “It is a milestone for IBM’s development.”
IBM, as the world largest provider of IT and industrial soluitions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], has maintained a good cooperative relationship with Ningbo. In 2007, IBM set up a branch in Ningbo.
Mao congratulated on the launch of the park. He said IBM would definitely play an important role in Ningbo’s construction of an intellectual city. Ningbo is working all out to create a good investment environment and the government will render whole-hearted support for the park construction,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], said the mayor.
Robert J. LeBlanc said the cooperation with Ningbo High-tech Park is a milestone for the IBM. It will rely on the port and the logistic base and introduce intellectual logistics to Ningbo, so as to promote the concept of Smart Earth. It will be of exemplary effect for other regions, he said.
