Temat postu: Kanye West Air Yeezy Shoes Kick-Ass DVD Preview
Under the shadow of controversy over Hit-Girl, many would anticipate a film that would shock and horrify and it did,Kanye West Air Yeezy Shoes, but for all the right reasons.
Kick Ass
lives up to its name because it provides audiences with an entertaining and diversionary piece which manages to do what other super hero films have failed to do: reinvent the genre.
Although the very ending was disappointing—those of you who have seen it will know what I mean—
Kick Ass
is a fun film which provides commentary on our need for violence on the silver screen without descending into preachy overtones. It may not have done as well at the box office as predicted, but it still kicks some incredible ass.
Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit Girl steals the show as she launches from walls, slices limbs from her opponents and performs stunts that will have your jaw dropping. Moretz gives the performance of her young life as she walks the line between Daddy’s Girl and a little killer. Her age—at a mere 11 years old—appears to be a problem for many who have seen it or have merely heard about it from others,Air Yeezys, but it is arguably her gender that is the real problem. Young girls are seen as princesses primarily, and not just princesses but girls who should exude some kind of fluffy femininity. In this, Hit Girl provides the antithesis to the plethora of young pop tartlets by providing a strong, independent girl who can and will defend herself. The fact that she gets her ass kicked by the Big Bad,Kanye West Air Yeezy, to coin a phrase from
Buffy
, only means that she is human and fallible, not that she is an 11 year old who has no power because she is a girl.
Kick Ass As Commentary for Society's Need for Violence?
While Hit Girl demands the audience’s attention,Kanye West Louis Vuitton Shoe, Big Daddy provides the first role for Nicolas Cage since
Lord of War
that does not annoy. His quiet, concerning nature coupled with the hair raising warehouse fight (to a rearranged
In the House—In a Heartbeat
) is just the right balance for a compelling Cage. And while Kick Ass (Johnson) was genuinely boring, his friends Marty (Clark Duke) and Todd (Evan Peters) were a delight to watch.
Kick Ass
asks the question: "why hasn't anyone tried to be a super hero before?" and answers it with a myriad of scenarios all with one result: it hurts—a lot. Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) is your average comic book reading teenager at that oh so deliciously awkward phase of high school. Struck with the powerlessness of being a teenager he decides to take control and become a real life super hero: Kick Ass. While most might associate the attempt to become a super hero to lunacy—those who have seen the
Kick Ass
spot with the flying man will know exactly what I am talking about here—the foray into superhero-dom in
Kick Ass
is fairly believable. The tongue in cheek approach definitely pays off as director Michael Vaughn takes us from the comic to the gruesome in a breath. Lizewski is a popular figure when he jumps into fighting crime leading him to meet with Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) who are involved in a far more insidious fight. The result is an ultra violent, hilarious and highly stylized film which is clearly not meant to be taken literally, but which has been by many who simply cannot get over the violence.
