| y are fresh from a recent test drive. A woman has tried them on jordan 2011, plotzed over them and left to think it over. What's to think? You can't even get Chanel sneakers for $250. And they are so new, the zipper is stiff. The sales associate and I huff and puff to get them zipped up. I am not leaving the store without them. We need some soap or candle wax to ease the zip - neither of which is on hand. We settle for sockettes and... Houston, we have lift-off. A pair of pristine strappy yellow Blahkiks are sexy and comfy. They go in the "yes" pile. A pair of brand new patent leather Chanel mules aren't sexy but are serviceable. They also go in the "yes" pile. I am head over heels about a pair of Gucci slides with a killer ersatz bamboo heel but they are wobbly. They are in the "maybe" pile. The Zentai unitardpointy toe sling-backs with the fabulous toe cleavage pinch just a tad. They go in the "reject" pile. All the zentai suit and boots are in the neighbourhood of $200. I am so giddy with excitement; I hyperventilate and almost miss the red faux croc Donald Pliner boots. I slip them on and preen in front of the mirror. "They are awesome," says a woman, racing outside from cashing out to rescue her kid from Cumberland St. traffic. |
