Somebody who followed this line of thought was Mackie in his article "Evil and Omnipotence". He argued against the defences to the problem of natural evil that Swinburne used in The Problem of Evil. Swinburne, for example, says that evil is necessary as a means to good but why would an omnipotent,Supra Pilot, wholly good being put up with evil as a means to good? Let alone create a world in which that were the case. In our case the universe is better with some evil than none but only because it has been made that way. If it was made by an omnipotent being then why was it not made so that evil was not necessary to achieve such good ends?
Could an Omnipotent Being Carry out Logical Contradictions?
As a result we end up with a situation where the more power that is granted to within the boundaries of omnipotence,Supra Strapped NS Shoes, the less likely it is that such an omnipotent, wholly good being exists.
It seems fair to argue that,Supra Skytop, since God created the logical boundaries of the universe in the first place It should also be capable of breaking them; or at least It could have created different logical boundaries for the universe. For example God could have created a world in which people can possess complete freedom of will but where no evil exists. It is a logical contradiction in our world - for us to have free will we must be capable of choosing between good and evil; but if an omnipotent, wholly good being exists it seems reasonable to question why evil was created as a necessary means to good. If this being was truly all powerful it would have been capable of creating a world where free will and evil are not tied together in such a way.
If somebody thinks that even an all powerful being is not necessarily capable of carrying out logical contradictions then it probably follows that,Supra Top Mens Shoes, like Swinburne, their view of evil would be that it is a necessary means to higher benefits such as free will which are well worth the price. This would mean accepting that even an utterly all powerful God could not create a married bachelor or have 2 + 2 = 5; and that this omnipotent being could not have created a different universe where such logical contradictions existed.
Each person's solution to the problem of natural evil depends largely upon another, somewhat tangental aspect in philosophy of religion. That is, whether they think God is capable of carrying out logical contradictions such as creating a married bachelor. This is because in our universe the existence of natural evil is consistent with the existence of an all powerful, benevolent God as long as people think that evil is necessary for free will to exist.

Why Does God Allow Evil?
The logical argument for whether omnipotence entails the ability to carry out logical contradictions is intricate and advanced. It is also not essential to this problem. What is important is that, if omnipotent power means that a being could carry out logical contradictions, then the existence of an omnipotent, all powerful being is impossible.
