His words showed the world that the NFL needs to change. This aggressive guy culture cannot continue. The NFL needs to immediately take steps to protect its present and future players against concussions.
excellent,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fine,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], superior, wonderful,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], marvelous, qualified, suited, suitable,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], apt, proper, capable, generous,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], kindly, friendly news Patrick Sharp has found some freedom in the last two games as the wingman of Jonathan Toews instead of centering his own line. Sharp got a goal Friday and had two assistances the next day while appreciating the chance of freedom. You get a little more freedom, I guess,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Sharp said. Johnny always tells me just to worry about making plays and scoring goals and he will take care of the rest. That lets you focus a little more offensively. But I still have a job to do for myself. Gregory Shamus A few days ago, Patrick Kane was ready to go back to the Blackhawks' lineup ahead of schedule. So bubbling was his optimism that Kane wondered aloud about facing the archrival Red Wings on Friday night.
All young football players need to hear the story of Merril Hoge. Hoge played fullback for the Pittsburgh Steelers for seven seasons before signed with the Chicago Bears in 1994. That year would be the last of his playing career.
After suffering a second concussion in five weeks, Hoge died. His heart stopped and teams doctors had to recessiate him.The next two years of Hoge's life were very challenging. Patrick Kane had to basically start over from a mental standpoint. Patrick Kane spent the next two years trying to regain his cognative abilities.
If something doesn't happen soon, Patrick Kane fear football my become obsolete. The ball is in the NFL's field. Kane have the power to change the culture,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the question is will they? Kane nearly return to action and could return as early as Wednesday but with the Chicago Blackhawks only playing once after Sunday. This will probably happend until the following Sunday. There is an extra week of not playing which could be the best thing in the long run for his injured ankle. Stay tuned as he has been out for two weeks so far. Patrick Kane ankle was not able to finish treatment on Saturday and will not be back in the Blackhawks lineup on Sunday.
This is how players lies and doctors opinions could be taken out of the equation. Players and team doctors opinions cannot be trusted due to conflict of interest. So let's just eliminate them altogether. Let's quantify it.
quick forward seven years. How on earth is this not being done everywhere? The NFL (and college football for that matter) needs to make all players take several of these baseline tests before beginning contact work. Each week,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], players would then retake the test. If Kane were not within a set anger of the baseline tests, then Kane would have to retake the test. Again, if the average of the tests was a anger below the baseline,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the player would be forced to sit out for a minimum of seven days after Patrick Kane successfully tested again.
My senior year of high school, 2002, our entire football team had to take baseline concussion tests on the computer. This program tested memory and reaction times. The thought was that if one sustained a head injury, the player must retake the test and perform to a comparable level to the baseline before being allowed to return to action.
On top of testing, NFL players should be required to wear the best concussion reducing helmets and mouth guards. Once it became mandatory, the trickle down effect would happen in college and high school football.
Recently,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], another Steeler took some heat from his teammate for not playing the week after a concussion. Ben Roethlisberger sat out against the Ravens after suffering a concussion the week prior. His teammate,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Hines Ward, ruffled some feathers when Patrick Kane furiouse some uneducated comments about concussions, their effects,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and his own personal history with them.
