What is The Losers All About?
Before comparisons are made with that other summer film, The A-Team, viewers likely to enjoy this silly but solid actioner should go and pick up Diggle's written works, to learn a bit more about this unusual cast of characters.
Whether the gang can stay alive, trust each other and get some payback, all depends on whether they're all on the same team, and whether they can stop Max before he starts World War III.
With only minutes before an airstrike is to destroy the entire area, the group of experts rush in to save the kids, kill the bad guys, and get out before their burn along with the buildings. Upon meeting with their airborne extraction team, the men opt to let the kids ride instead, so they may reach safety first. Seconds later, the chopper explodes [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], killing all of the kids. Max set up the boys to fail, and they are all believed dead.
During a covert mission in Bolivia, a special ops team consisting of Colonel Clay (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Watchmen), Roque (Idris Elba, RocknRolla), Jensen (Chris Evans, Push), Pooch (Columbus Short, Armored) and Cougar (Oscar Jaenada) are on their way to stop a criminal mastermind at his compound, but must abort when they detect innocent children on the premises. A mystery voice comes onto the comm channel, calling himself Max (Jason Patric, My Sister's Keeper.) The abort is overridden.
The Good and the Bad in The Losers
First off, there seems to be a forced romance between Clay and Aisha, which simply doesn't ring true during the movie. It has the feel of having been thrown in post-production, after a potential screen test showed a lack of that element in the first place (mind you [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that's a good thing in this case). Secondly, though Jason Patric has plenty of fun playing an eccentric, quick-wit over-the-top villain, he never really comes off as threatening, and major elements of his persona are never explained (why is his left hand burned?)

The Losers takes its audiences through their paces during some high-octane explosive action scenes, but tries to hard to infuse some laughable interpersonal relationships, and veers away from its source material once too often.
At first glance [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this film is a simple revenge story. The bulk of the film is watchable, if only for the awesome chemistry these characters have, pushing forward the plausibility that these men have fought through hell and back, and would gladly give their lives for one another, in the name of loyalty. Past this, director Sylvain White, along with actor/director Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt acting as screenwriters, throw in a few curve balls which really don't add to the story, or the group's dynamic.
Looking to get some payback and find Max so they can exact their vengeance, the boys bide their time in South America, until they meet the seductive but determined Aisha (Zoe Saldana, Star Trek), who is also out to get Max for some unexplained offence. Willing to bankroll these vindictive military experts in their quest to find their mutual foe, Aisha joins the boys (who are, of course, the titular Losers) in order to find Max, who is busily making financial transactions in order to acquire "snukes", new weapons of untold destructive power.
