The celebrated epic poem The Shahmameh, written in the modern Persian language puma first round, contains over 50,000 rhyming couplets, 62 stories, and 990 chapters. Ferdowsi begins with the creation of the world, moving through history down to Persia of the 7th century C.E. Ferdowsi crafted a grand, purely Persian work, bringing back the pride of the country which had been invaded and conquered by the Arabs and Islam. The pages of the Shahnameh are filled with the splendor of Persia, Persian history, Persian culture, and Zoroastrian traditions, as well as Persian kings, heroes, heroines, villains and mythic creatures.
Abolqasem Ferdowsi is one of the best known literary figures of Persia (Iran). There are many variant spellings of Ferdowsi’s name, such as Hakim Abu l-Qasim Firdawsi Tusi, Ferdousi, etc., as there are many ways of transliterating the vowels, some consonants not used in English, and word endings from the Persian language. Illuminated Versions
Some of the most beautiful examples of Persian miniature paintings are the illuminated versions of the Shahnameh. The most noted of these manuscripts are the Houghton Shahnameh, Great Mongol Shahnameh and the Bayasanghori Shâhnâmeh. Many delicate, masterful miniature paintings were made during the Safavid period from the 16th to 18th centuries
The Shahnameh has had a profound influence on modern Persian culture and language. The ability to read the ancient book, understanding its language, is one reason that the Persian language has not changed much in the 1000 years since it was written. Iranians are taught many righteous principles of behavior through the conflicts and histories skillfully related. A primary moral teaching throughout Shahnameh is the search for wisdom and justice, while maintaining upright behavior.
Ferdowsi spent 30 years composing his poetic masterpiece, The Shahnameh,. Ferdowsi’s lifelong epic work, was preceded by the stories previously recorded by Abu Mansur Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Daqiqi Balkhi (935/942-976/980) wrote about the national epic legends. Ferdowsi may have used previous prose texts no longer available, oral traditions and Zoroastrian texts as sources for his great artistic work. This is a history of the Aryans, and some of the legends come from the Avesta and the Rig Veda.

The tragic story of Rostam and Sohrab is one of the most well-known legends contained in the Shahnameh. Rostam is a mighty warrior hero who has a beloved, strong horse named Rakhsh who assists him in conflicts and adventures. The story of Rostam ends sadly with the death of Rostam’s son puma ferrari, Sohrab, by his own hand.
