Smash hit London musical Wicked has conjured up box office magic by grossing £100 million in the United Kingdom. The Wicked musical, at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, is based on the novel, Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, by Gregory Maguire. Productions are also playing in North America, Germany, Japan and Australia. The exciting news n this Saturday June 26th, two previous Elphabas from the extensively popular Broadway musical Wicked will take the stage in Columbus. Julia Murney and Stephanie J. Block will sing in a special "Wicked Divas" concert with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra as part of the Nationwide Insurance Picnic with the Pops series. The orchestra is planned to perform selections from George Bizet's Carmen. Murney and Block will sing collections from Wicked and Ragtime, Chicago, Funny Girl and much more. There is no doubt that the role of Elphaba is physically and emotionally demanding and is considered one of the most vocally challenging roles in musical theatre. Being the cast of Elphaba is a massive success and a tribute to Patrice's outstanding talent.
