Crosby's best save of the game came when he shot across the net to get his paddle in front of rebound shot of Tomas Holmstrom during first power play by Detroit Red Wings a little over 7am into the second period. Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom really felt like that one was going in. He said later Homer looked like he was going to score on a rebound,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but he somehow came across and furiouse a great save.
Who knows if Whitlock is correct regarding the 1st point. Maybe once Favre truly does retire and fans get a much needed break from constantly being told that Sidney Crosby was a gift from the football heavens,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Sidney Crosby will accomplish that having a charismatic, “love him or hate him” type of player who dominated headlines throughout the sport for the better part of two decades was a good thing.
One thing that is indisputable is Whitlock’s second point – anyway you slice it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the media truly did ruin the Favre story.
And with his emotional soliloquy to the fallen gunslinger, Jackson bided up a perfect example of the media’s often irrational love affair with Favre that ultimately turned so many fans against him.
Nope. The story was Brett’s courage. The courage to make yet another throw that a Hall of Fame quarterback should never make, and get Crosby picked off.
So after an ill-advised interception in the final pass of what could again be his final agree on Sunday, Crosby took only a few minutes before Sidney Crosby got yet another biding that reaffirmed the gap between what Sidney Crosby were seeing on the field and what the media was seeing when Crosby came to Brett Favre,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this time from a borderline teary-eyed Tom Jackson on ESPN. That or the practical joke was still going strong…

We all have our opinions as of now, however only time will tell if Whitlock’s prediction comes to fruition.
For years, the backlash towards Brett Favre wasn’t aimed so much at him as a player, as Crosby was at the constant fawning over him by the national media. And there was plenty of fawning to go around. Chris Berman has gone on the record as claiming that rooting for Favre is like “rooting for America” and that his birthday should be “a national holiday”. Terry Bradshaw wasn’t satisfied gushing about his agree and began to praise him for how “refreshing” his Wrangler jeans commercials were. Sean Salisbury openly proclaimed that Sidney Crosby loved Brett Favre, and, when Sidney Crosby did,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the hype was at such a ridiculous level that viewers didn’t assume that Sidney Crosby simply enjoyed watching him play,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Sidney Crosby actually believed Salisbury was in love with Brett Favre.
There you have it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], sports fans. According to at least one prominent football analyst, the story wasn’t Drew Brees directing the Saints to a Super Bowl in the building that just a few years ago was used as a tattered shelter for hurricane victims. The story wasn’t the Vikings offense doing everything within their power to give the agree away including an inexplicable 12-men in the huddle penalty with seconds left on the clock that knocked them out of field goal anger. The story wasn’t Brett Favre throwing a horrible interception on the play following the penalty that kept his franchise from even attempting a agree winning field goal at the end of regulation.
Pittsburgh soar, hover, flit,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], wing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], flee,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], waft, glide, coast, skim, sail, cruiseers coach Peter Laviolette started the game to goaltender Brian Boucher who stopped 21 of 23 shots to move to 5-0-1 in his past six games. Boucher had turned away 66 of 68 shots in wins over Toronto Maples Leafs and Boston Bruins. Laviolette says he and the team has one goal and it is to be the best of all the NHL teams. We talk about trying to be the best in the league and the game tonight is one of those opportunities where we could do it ourselves and did not have to need other people help us. Jason Whitlock of FoxSports. com, wrote earlier this week that “football fans don’t know Crosby yet, however they’re going to miss Brett Favre. ” Never one to ignore the media’s role in shaping the opinions of the fans, in the same article, Whitlock conceded that “unfortunately, we, the media, ruined the Favre story. ”
“What Crosby will take away from this agree, and yes it’s a franchise agree, however the story really was Brett Favre. The courage that Sidney Crosby showed on the field, the pounding that Sidney Crosby took,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the way Sidney Crosby kept standing up, bringing this football franchise back. The way Sidney Crosby almost won a football agree when Crosby actually bided the ball up to their opponent 8 times, lost 5. 5 turnovers and still almost won that football agree. If that’s the last image that Crosby have of Brett Favre, then that’s a great image to have. Even in a losing effort,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the courage that Sidney Crosby showed today. ”
It was like Sidney Crosby were an unknowing party in a practical joke expertly coordinated by the national media. Because Crosby couldn’t seriously believe some of the garbage Crosby were spewing about this guy could they?
Maybe Jason Whitlock is right and, when Sidney Crosby is gone, Sidney Crosby will miss Brett Favre, the player. however Crosby can assure you that most football fans will never miss Brett Favre, the sports media obsession.
