The thing is, doing all the dreaming and planning satisfies your longing to have something better than you have now. For many people that is really all they want, a good feeling. It gives people something to aim at even if they never end up taking a shot at it. They still have the feeling of hope if for no other reason than they are thinking about their dream. They still have the desire and the "plan."
